Our work
LX Car DetailingWebsite with online booking and client portal
For a car detailing workshop in Riga we built a website with online booking, a phone-first admin for the workshop and a client portal with invoices. Live at lxcar.lv in Latvian and English.
LX Car Detailing: a website that takes bookings on its own, plus job tracking for the workshop
The task
LX Car Detailing is a car detailing workshop in Riga. Requests came in by phone and WhatsApp, the schedule lived in the owner's head, and there was no customer history anywhere. They needed a website where the customer picks a service, a day and an hour, and behind it a system where the workshop keeps its schedule, customers and invoices. All of it had to work on a phone, because nobody in the workshop sits at a desk.
What we built
Three parts in one system: the public website with online booking, the workshop admin and a client portal. The site is in Latvian and English and is live at lxcar.lv. We delivered in stages from July to September, and each stage went live the day it was ready.
Website and booking
- Every service has its own price by vehicle size: compact, estate, SUV or van. The customer picks the size once and it travels through to the booking.
- Booking in four steps: service, date, time, contact details. Each date shows how many free slots are left.
- The calendar counts working hours, not clock hours. A full detail takes several days, and the system spreads the job across working days on its own, skipping lunch and closed days.
- After booking, both the customer and the workshop get an email. The day after a finished job the customer gets a short request to leave a Google review.
- Four service pages for search engines with prices and FAQs. Structured business data for Google, with opening hours taken from the admin rather than hard-coded.
Workshop admin
- A "Today" page: new requests, the day's schedule and revenue on one screen.
- The month grid shows how many hours are still free on each day. The day view by the hour shows where a four-hour job fits and where it does not.
- The customer index grows by itself: each booking attaches to an existing customer by email or phone, and the car by number plate. Old bookings were imported into the index automatically.
- Two roles: the owner sees everything, an employee sees only the jobs assigned to them and no money.
- The price list, the size-based price matrix, opening hours and closed days are all edited by the workshop, without a developer.
Client portal
- An account with email and password or with Google. The portal attaches to the customer's existing history by email.
- Upcoming appointments, full history by year and the customer's cars. A "Book again" button opens the form with the same service and car, so only the time is left to pick.
- The invoice sits next to the job: line items, VAT and payment status come from the invoicing system.
Technology
Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, SQLite with Drizzle, hosted on Railway, daily database backups, integration with the invoicing system. More than 350 automated tests guard the booking logic and access rights.
