About the project
Ignitis Latvia is part of Ignitis Group, one of the leading integrated energy groups in the Baltic region, operating across the Baltic states and Poland. Ignitis Latvia provides comprehensive energy solutions for private and business customers, including electricity and natural gas trading, the largest public fast-charging network for electric vehicles in the Baltics, smart energy management and other services.
iConcept contributed to the development of the Ignitis Latvia mobile app, designed for private customers and smart energy management. The project resulted in a digital solution that brings together electricity consumption management, customer self-service, smart device connection and energy efficiency-related features in one platform.
Project goals
The goal of Ignitis was to create a mobile app that allows users to monitor their electricity consumption more conveniently, manage service-related information and make more informed decisions about everyday energy use.
The app had to provide:
● access to electricity consumption data and its visualisation;
● viewing of consumption history and forecasts;
● the ability to manage contracts, invoices and payments;
● smart device, solar panel and electric vehicle connection scenarios;
● secure authentication using e-identification solutions commonly used in Latvia;
● availability on both iOS and Android platforms.
Technical solution
The project was developed as a cross-platform mobile solution for iOS and Android users. The development focused on a clear and user-friendly mobile experience, integrations with the client’s systems and the presentation of data in a simple, everyday usable format.
Main functionality areas
1. Electricity consumption management
The app allows users to analyse their electricity usage habits and monitor consumption data across different time periods — by 15 minutes, hours, days or months. Users can review their consumption history, forecasts and better understand how their daily habits affect electricity costs.
2. Smart devices and household profile
The app includes the option to connect and manage smart devices, including solar panels and electric vehicles. This helps users monitor their household energy consumption, production and the efficiency of individual devices in one place.
3. Customer self-service
The app allows users to manage information related to Ignitis services — contracts, invoices, payment status and payments. This enables users to complete key self-service actions directly in the mobile environment without switching to other channels.
4. Secure authentication
To ensure secure access to customer data, authentication in the app is carried out using Smart-ID or e-signature. After authentication, the user’s objects and data are linked to their account and displayed in a clear, structured format.
Conclusion
This project combines several important areas of digital product development — mobile application development, data visualisation, integrations with external systems, secure authentication and a user-friendly self-service experience.
