Indexo Bank Mobile App Development — Case Study

Overview

From 2022 to 2025, iConcept worked on one of the largest projects in the company’s history — the development of the Indexo Bank mobile application.

Indexo Bank was created as a modern mobile bank made in Latvia, where key everyday banking services are available directly on a user’s phone. The goal of the project was to build a secure, convenient and easy-to-understand mobile application that allows customers to use banking services without relying on a traditional internet bank or branch visit.

For the iConcept team, the project required a careful balance between technical stability, user experience and the high security expectations of the financial services industry.

Challenge

In the financial sector, a mobile application is not just an additional digital channel. It is the main environment where customers interact with the bank, access financial data, make payments and use banking services.

The key challenge of the Indexo Bank project was to create an application that was functional, secure and as simple as possible for everyday use. The app had to provide access to essential banking services while maintaining intuitive navigation and a modern user experience.

It was especially important that users could quickly understand where they are in the app, what action they are taking and what happens next. In a banking product, any unclear step can reduce trust, so every flow, screen and notification had to be carefully considered.

Solution

The iConcept team participated in the development of the mobile application, creating a solution that combines everyday banking functionality, a user-friendly interface and a reliable technical foundation.

The application includes several important features for customers: money transfers, 3rd pension pillar functionality, standing orders and term deposits, loan options, Apple Pay and Google Pay support, as well as a custom chat solution.

React Native was used for the mobile app frontend, enabling development for both iOS and Android while maintaining a consistent user experience across platforms. Node.js was used for backend solutions, while SvelteKit was used as a full stack solution for the support chat functionality.

Throughout the project, close collaboration between the client’s team, design, development and testing was essential. This helped gradually improve the solution, respond to changing needs and ensure that the application supported both business goals and user expectations.

Technologies

Technologies used in the project:

  • Node.js — backend solutions;
  • React Native — mobile application frontend;
  • SvelteKit — full stack solution for the support chat.

This technology stack made it possible to build a mobile-first application with a strong foundation for further development and new features.

In financial industry projects, technology choices are only one part of the work. Security, stable data exchange, reliability and quality testing are equally important. That is why the development process focused not only on functionality, but also on the overall user experience and trust in the product.

Result

As a result, a mobile application was created that helps Indexo Bank customers use banking services directly on their phone — from everyday payments to broader financial service management.

The application became an important part of Indexo Bank’s digital experience and helped the bank offer a modern, accessible financial services environment in the Latvian market.

iConcept’s contribution to the project was not only technical development, but also a practical approach to product quality: a clear user experience, a well-structured application and a solution that can continue to evolve.

This project demonstrates iConcept’s experience in developing complex mobile applications, especially in cases where security, usability, stability and long-term technical maintainability are essential.

What We Learned

The Indexo Bank project once again confirmed that a successful financial mobile application is not just a list of features. It is a trusted digital experience where every detail affects how users perceive the product.

Key takeaways:

  • user flows must be as simple and clear as possible;
  • in banking applications, security and usability must be planned from the earliest stages of development;
  • the technical solution must be ready for further growth;
  • close collaboration between the client, design, development and testing teams is critical;
  • a mobile application can become an important part of business growth, not just a technical product.
